San Francisco kayak rentals?

Going to SF in late September. Anyone know of a place to rent a good sea kayak for the day?

has a location in Jack London Square with immediate access to the Oakland Estuary.

You can easily get out on the Bay from there if you are heading to Angel Island or Alcatraz.

I rented a kayak from Kayak Connection to use in Elkhorn Slough, just south of San Francisco. It was a good experience, the slough is pretty protected, and there were seals and sea otters and all.



But that’s the first and only time I’ve been in a kayak, so I needed to stay off the real ocean.



I had enough fun, though, that I might consider abandoning my beloved canoes for a kayak now and then–especially if I didn’t feel so silly in the spray skirt.
