Where we were paddling our canoe on Lake Keowee this summer, it seems like that would be a terrible place to be intentionally creating huge wakes. I seem to remember the shoreline spotted with private homes and docks. There were a good number of jubilant powerboaters out there, but most everyone seemed to regard one another as a community of boaters, and we felt included in that per the greetings and brief conversations. We had a very pleasant day.
I’ve no doubt I would enjoy riding the wake. But for me too it would be difficult not to consider the impact on other things.
This thread reminds me how lucky I am to be able to launch off of the ocean beach close to home. The vast majority of pleasureboaters don’t normally venture into the sea around here.
