Thanks for the Telephone Call
Yanoer, on your way home with the Loon you telephoned me. I’ll address one of the questions in your post: the Loon is COMPLETELY different from the Summersong. Also, under “normal” conditions, the Summersong is FINE when paddling next to sea kayaks. I keep up just fine. But in chop and wind the Summersong can be a handful.
You’ll find the Loon slightly faster than the Summersong, I “think”, and much better in chop. Listen to Mick, he knows these canoes.

I transported my Sawyer Loon with cockpit down for long hauls and right side up if I was going short run to launch ramps. Just bought a Pokeboat and found it inferior to the Loon. I had a Kevlar Loon that was almost indestructible. The poke I have to handle like an Easter Egg
I always transported my Loon upside down, as I do my Mad River Monarch.
I’d like to have a Kevlar Loon for the lighter weight.
Wow, saw the thread and thought it was a flashback…read the original post date and it IS a flashback (LOL)! Oh, “Mick,” mcwood4 , sure miss him! I think my friend Joewildlife has about all his old Loons, Kruegers, and Monarch?
