Hi All. I ave a Coleman Scanoe that is 5 or 6 years old. It is the type with 3 big bulky plastic seats. They are very uncomfortable and the center one takes up a lot of space.I want to replace the center seat with 2 yokes and the fore and aft seats with wooden webbed ones. I could purchase or make myself, but was here to see if anyone had any experience doing this who could give advice or point me toward a source for plans. Thank you.
Those plastic seats are required for structural integrity. Single layer poly boat hulls are not stiff enough on their own. If you replace them with thwarts and wood seats the hull will wobble like jelly.
