We have some deep scratches on our Wenonah canoe. How do some of you repair these? Where do you get the necessary supplies? Thanks much!
Doing it right now
on our kevlar ultralight.
If there is no gel coat, sand the area around the scratch.
Use two part epoxy and as soon as you have the scratch coated with it, tape a piece of stiff plastic (like overhead projector film) over the repair.
Peel it off the next day and it will come out like glass.
Take a look at my other post here. the stuff I covered with the plastic came out perfect, and for some reason the minor scratches that I just swabbed some epoxy on and didn’t cover stayed tacky.
