I’m curious about the best way to sell a canoe/kayak trailer? It looks like the classifieds here are a mess although I was able to post it, I can’t open it. I’ve listed it on Facebook Marketplace, ( I live in a rural area), but really don’t know the most effective way . I haven’t sold anything paddle related in years. Thanks for any input.
You can try craigslist as well…
Well, as a start you should say what you have, where you are, and what you are asking. And then posting a few pictures would be helpful.
Are you saying that it’s ok to post it up here in the forum?
Sold one easily on FB Marketplace from a rural area.
I’d message one of the Mods for clarification on posting for sale items here on the forum vs the classified section
Well I know know the policies but I can tell you that I don’t believe it’s against any policy because I have seen several kayaks listed here and in fact, one is now mine because it was listed here. I bought my Eddyline Fathom from a man who posted it here.
The site is about paddlers helping other paddlers so it would seem very backwards if you could not post it.
From what I understand (from what I’ve been told) moderators are hard to contact on this forum. I am very ignorant of “all things cyber” so I am unsure who the moderator is or what the 1st step would be.
But Marshall owns a paddle shop and he’s been very helpful to members, The fact he makes a living from it seem irrelevant to me. God bless him. He’s a great member.
I also have posted notices to help Jacqueline of VitaminSea Paddle shop to try to arrange sales and delivery plans for kayaks coming down from Canada.
Why that would be disallowed I couldn’t fathom. Members helping out other members should be what this site should be all about.
If it is a larger trailer that can hold multiple boats, contact any outfitters near you that offer tours or boat shuttles. If a small trailer, contact any local kayaking clubs, Meetup or Facebook groups.
Rookie and Marshall are both moderators here. It’s the admin and owners that don’t seem to respond.
Well once again I show my near 100% ignorance of the cyber world. I always thought the owner was the moderator.
Most folks would be shocked if they knew how little I know about computers and the cyber world.
I know nothing about rookie, but Marshall is a great member and very helpful. I am glad he’s on the forum and has contributed many times in ways that are informative and helpful.
