A local kayaker, who is also has a video priduction company, recently made a short video showing the dynamic waters of SF Bay. Interesting to watch.

One benefit of exploring tidal waters in a paddle boat is how you see and feel the forces of the water as wind, tide, and converging river currents interact to reshape the bottom which influence waves. If you manage to interpret the conditions, you can find the right spot where those forces converge or clash, or you can take advantage of the flow to go further using less energy.
When conditions are mild, it’s a rare but special occasion when you pass through the tide line of opposing water forces. That spot accumulates the floatsome and pollen to accentuate the feature.
The fog is rather dynamic as well.
