I’m looking for any information about canoeing the Shenandoah River beyond Front Royal, VA towards Harper’s Ferry, WV, and possibly even beyond into the Potomac. How far is it feasible to go for two relatively experienced paddlers in a canoe?

Is a good source of info on that part of the Shenandoah. Just upstream of the confluence with the Potomac is the fabled Shenadoah Staircase. You can get more info, and maybe join one of the trips sponsored by the Monocacy Canoe Club, www.MonocacyCanoe.org.

I backpacked in the Shenandoah National Park several years ago and remember it being beautiful. I will be moving back to the east coast soon and that sounds like a great trip!
Is it flatwater for the most part or is it whitewater? Sounds like it might be a great multi-day paddling / camping trip. I would do it in a kayak though.
I will keep watching this post as I would be interested in doing this trip as well.
