Shoulder injuries with kayaking

Hey paddlers,

Doing a very short survey about anyone who paddles and has had or has shoulder injuries for my college course.

Would be great if yous could give it a fill it out and pass it on!

Thanks

Your survey only addresses white water. I have an old shoulder injury and only paddle flat water. I have 2 friends who have had shoulder replacements who also paddle flat water.
The point is your survey scope could be expanded.

What is it with people signing up to forums only to ask others to fill in surveys? “She” also signed up here and posted the same thing:

Most of my kayaking friends and non-kayaking friends with shoulder injuries are old. The kayakers are seakayak. How do you factor “other” causes from kayaking causes?

Lots of young whitewater kayakers have suffered shoulder dislocations. It seems that whitewater kayakers are more prone to shoulder dislocations and whitewater open boaters to rotator cuff tears. I sustained a shoulder subluxation (incomplete dislocation) hands rolling a whitewater kayak in a swimming pool. Doesn’t take much force if you get your hand behind your shoulder plane.

Sorry, Im quite new to kayaking myself and doing the survey has actually expanded my view and helped me find forums which I hope to be more a part of.
Also, “she”?

Then I suggest reading lots of historical posts, then when you know what questions have been asked and answered hundreds of times already then join in the discussion and continue learning.

Forums are intended to be interactive. Surveys are not.

I have been reading historical posts as well, but as a stipulation of my degree, I need to do my own survey as well as post it in forums.
Thanks for ignoring the “she” part of my question
