Shoulder mounting for HX300 hand-held VHF radio

Hi,

My PFD has a lash tab, but it doesn’t fit the belt clip of my HX300 VHF radio . What would be the best way to carry it on my upper body when kayaking? A type of shoulder mounting would be a good way? And any suggestion on a specific product?

Thanks,

Jie

Thanks Rookie. Good article on this. I will give it a try.

I used a carabineer on shoulder strap and hang radio in it with bungee tether and Scotty clip

Thanks PaddleDog52.

Glad you found it helpful, Jie. Maybe someday technology will advance and create a VHF radio headset with microphone and voice commands. And built-in GPS, of course.

It loses the waterproof rating as soon as you plug something into the mike jack.

May be bag it like an phone with a jack in case if they make one.
