Morning! I purchased a Yakima Showboat to more easily load the canoe (Old Town Guide 158, about 85 lbs) on our Honda CRV (with factory crossbars). We tried installing it yesterday to find the Yakima wingnuts are too tall for the canoe installation instructions. Has anyone tried replacing them?
I’ve read other threads about the roller needing tightening regularly. I have no problem carrying Allen wrenches if the Showboat turns out to be a shoulder saver. But I need to be able to get it on the roof to even try it out! Thanks!
