Smart trac foot pedals

I have a samll kayak that is fitted with the curved plastic pedals from smart trac. They are simply the foot pedals, there is no rudder. I am just wondering what part of the foot is meant to press against these pedals since they have a convex curve in nature. Thanks.

The ball of the foot on bottom, toes on top

If you have both parts,
the small top ones are for the rudder and are to be used with the toes. If you don’t have a rudder don’t use them. They will be no good for bracing, since they are hinged. Use the large solid bottom ones for bracing, and you use the ball of your foot to brace on them.
