Duluth, do you have a route planned
yet? Lots of ways to slice up the Quetico. Where do you think you will go?
Route
We won’t be taking the most direct route and there are a half dozen really good routes to choose from to get from Moose to Beaverhouse. My entry permit is for Kahshahpiwi (tougher, but my choice) so our route will be Moose, Prairie Portage, North Bay, Side, Kahshahpiwi, Sark, Cairn, Shelley, Keats, Chatterton, Russell, Jean, Quetico, Beaverhouse.

into going back this summer using Ely as a base. We rented canoes there a few years ago (now we are kayakers) and had a great time. Started at Lake One, portaged to a few other lakes, got lost, couldn’t get advice or directions because everyone was lost [bad maps], got caught in a thunderstorm with lightning on open water, YET: we have great memories forever.
Confusion Lake?
It’s in the area, I recall getting lost there for awhile. Very appropriately named IMHO! WW
