OK all you San Diegans,
I work downtown and would like to get in some paddling after work. I’m still pretty much a beginner and paddle a 12 ft Pungo. What would be a good area? Mission bay?

Yup
Depending on where you work downtown there are easy put ins at Spanish Landing, Shelter Island or on Coronado Island, on San Diego Bay.
The south Boat Ramp on Mission Bay or Fiesta Island are easiest spots to put a boat in the water. Boat wakes are the only bumps in the water on the eastern part of mission Bay. Lot’s of other places like Crown Point, Bahia Point etc are easily accessible.
With the time change it may be a better strategy to paddle before work. Also on Thursday Nights you can try the Social Paddles at 6:00 PM (Bring a flashlight) at Aqua Adventures.
