How do the Old Town Appalachian and Tripper compare in flatwater speed? I know neither one is optimum for covering long distances on flatwater, but I’d like to know if one would be significantly better than the other. I’m considering a replacement for my aging Tripper which has served well for a variety of uses, but is a tad bigger and heavier than what I need. Thanks.

look at the from above profile on the OT site. Its got a full bow for riding over waves…that usually makes a boat slower.
The Koru looks interesting but I havent paddled one…however it looks like a squat pumpkin on land.
Owned a Tripper. I don’t think that
those two boats would differ much in cruising speed, if at all.
