Spring Ozark Rendezvous - Buffalo River

Flood Watch issued for Jasper AR Tonight through Thursday morning. 2 to 4 inches expected.

Yeah, I been watching the weather and the rain forecast, not much we can do about it. Thursday maybe a wash out, waterfalls will be running. My husband and I and whoever else wants to join us will hike on Thursday if that is the case. Hopefully we can get on the river Friday and Saturday. We are at the mercy of Mother Nature, and it’s always a crap shoot. Along with our canoes we are bringing or Slice, which would be fun do it at least one of the days and it helps if water is good.

Thanks to Pam and everyone attending the small but enjoyable Spring Rendezvous. Safe paddling this season.

Ditto Martypaddles.

Rob and Pam deserve extra thanks this year due to their diligence in the safety dept. and their updates on the situation following the flood damage to our usual Fall campground on the Current. I, and I assume others in the group, would have not known about it otherwise and it will be of importance to us in our planning for this autumn.

And congrats on their new cataraft - a type of paddlecraft not mentioned often on this board.

Yes, we are certainly always at the mercy of Mother Nature. The Ozarks are spectacularly beautiful in the Spring rains even if floods make Buffalo river paddling dicey. At least we weren’t tent bound in the BWCA for a week… such can happen anywhere, of course.

Thanks again.
