I know she won’t sell it back to me
I was wanting to see how big a reaction I got outta her. She does paddle it very well. It is a very handsome canoe and I’m glad she is giving it a good home. I will work out details on borrowing one of the aforemention canoes as the dates get closer.

Guide - NOT FOR SALE
I love ya Duggae but hell would have to freeze over before I would sell the Guide. That boat has found it’s last owner until I die, and I sure hope that will be a while, don’t ya’ll try killing me now!

Hey Pam
Be careful which metaphor you use. You might want to consider changing your metaphor to “when pigs fly.” Here in Iowa hell is in the process of freezing over. I think Doug, Ginny, and Kim might agree with me.



Forecast low tonight and tomorrow night is below zero, with a forecast high tomorrow in the low single digits and wind chills in the double digits below zero.

You’ve got company
And I know misery does like that. It was six below zero here in normally mild CT this morning, the snow in the yard is well over our knees and it is snowing again.



I’ve been amusing myself with snowshoes and skinny skis but I’m ready for the ice to melt and the canoes to emerge from the snow.

PADDLING weather here - in Alaska
While you folks seem to be having our weather, (9) of us got out on Kachemak Bay this morning - temp in the low 30’s, no wind and an early tide. On the other hand, looking forward to the Rendezvous in just 10 weeks.

it’s -20 at bedtime
and the high was -9 today. And It was windy. I don’t get out the skinny ski’s or snowshoes unless it’s above zero as I’ve become wimpy in my old age. But I do love winter. And…I’m going to ignore that Pam was yelling at me!

Yelling…
I started to go offline earlier, but JA cranked up the sweeper.

Decided to stay on the computer…



If I go where she is when she’s running the sweeper, one of two things happens:

  1. She tries to put me to work.
  2. If I refuse work; then I get “yelled at”, and told (in no uncertain terms) to either get busy, or get lost.



    Have you ever gotten lost on purpose?

    I do it all the time; I have that technique perfected.

we get 4 inches of snow here its like
a major weather event and they interupt our television all evening with serious updates… you probably had the same thing Doug when you lived in MO. but that being said all that stuff can stay up your way if in you dont mind im a ready for some blooming trees

Canoecopiea time
Just wondering if anybody is coming up to Canoeacopie this year. I think that Rena is having a Saturday evening get together at the Tied House in Fitchburg. Laurel and I hope to see some of you there.



I am definitely ready to throw the Bigfoot on the truck and head to twin bridges.

Can’t make it
Can’t make Canoecopia this year, but chomping on the bit to get to Twin Bridges. Besides, it will be warmer by then. It’s about +7 now with a forecast of low -9 and a -15 wind chill tonight.

Approaching the final turn
Approaching the final turn in to the home stretch. Only seven weeks to the Rendezvous.



Forecast here for tomorrow is for 65 (above zero) and our local retired paddlers group has scheduled a float on the Des Moines River for Wednesday. I can’t make it, besides I could never get all my paddling shit together in time. Our pond is still in a solid state. Well maybe semi-solid. I won’t walk on it nor let my dog on it.

Buffalo or Eleven Point before and Current with Terry after - I have LOTS of time and want to spend several weeks on Ozark waters before heading west again.
