St. Regis Canoe Area

I’m planning a four day trip to the St. Regis Canoe area this weekend and would like to know if Saint Regis Mtn is accessable from Upper St. Regis Lake (Spring Bay). Also, is there anyone with info on Floodwood Mtn and Long Pond Mtn. Thanks.

SRCA
It’s been a few yrs since I’ve been up that way but there is/was an unofficial path from Spring bay to St Regis Mt. It’s blazed w/ yellow paint &, if not faded you may notice the word “lake” w/ arrow painted on some trees on rte. It’s much shorter than the DEC trail which was re-routed & much lengthened few yrs ago. A bushwack from SR Pond is most rewarding & challenging rte, however.

Long Pond Mt path was officially marked (red disks begin @ Mt Pond) by DEC few yrs back. You’ll also notice old purple paint blazes. Trail avoids the steepest sections of old path. Don’t neglect to follow a path thru brush from summit few yds to great overlook to N&W that will complete the 360 deg view.

Floodwood Mt trail is marked from old rd that accessed now closed Boy Scout camp

If you like those views try Ampersand Mt from either Middle Saranac L, or SR3, 10 min shorter
