Stellar S18R generation 1 vs generation 2 differences

Has anyone compared both? The website says the G2 has a “refined hull shape” and “tighter catch”—how different is it really in practice? I’ve done a bit of searching yet now found any comparisons beyond the Stellar literature.

I ask because sometimes I see both models on the used market and am thinking of getting one. I have a QCC 700 that I really love and will keep and continue to mod; I’d like to try something different and have another fast boat for when I’m working on the 700.

Lastly, what would you expect the difference to be on the used market? I’ve seen G2 version for as low as $2700; I also see a G! for $2700 and am wondering how much less a G1 should be.

The quick way to tell G2 from G1 is the bow and stern handles. The G2 has the more flush carbon handles as opposed to the fat plastic “walmart” looking handles of the G1.

Right now there are two G2 models in Florida, both had damage repair, for $1,400 and $1,500. I’ve also seen a G1 multisport go for around $2,000.

I had a G? that I sold for too little. Beautiful boat. Should have spent more time with it.

I wasn’t in good enough shape to keep my back from rubbing the back of the cockpit. I was missing skin after every paddle and wasn’t smart enough to get a backband installed.
