I had posted earlier about how to mount my kayak from ceiling joists, and I appreciate all of the feedback that I received. But now I’m looking into a wall mount with straps vs. a wall-mounted rack. Which option will result in my kayak keeping its shape?
I would say both are fine
as long as you support the kayak where it is strongest, in most cases this is in the bulk-head areas. In most cases this divides the kayak roughly into thirds. I store my kayaks on their sides.
If you use a hard mount bracket you may want to pad the bracket with carpet or closed cell foam.
The one that is mounted in a room
where the temperature is below 160 degrees F.
