Found another canoe to add to my (growing) collection, but the craigslist ad mentions the canoe has sun bleaching. Does anyone know if that will slow the canoe? I am thinking of using it for recreational racing. It has a carbon layup. Thanks!
Nothing to do with speed, but it may indicate sun damage.
Sun degrades most materials, usually making them brittle. UV can degrade the epoxy holding the carbon together.
