Tandem canoe - double blade paddle size?

I have a Old Town Pennobscot 16’ roayalex canoe. I have a 240cm kayak paddle and it feels about right in the stern. Should the bow kayak paddle be the same or a different length? I currently have a 260cm paddle too.

Maybe you could pass the 240 to the
bow paddler and use the 260 in the stern. It also depends somewhat on the height of the paddlers.

I agree. I assume your bow paddler is a little smaller. Give them the shorter paddle and use the 260 in the back.



Or you could do it like a normal person and use a single blade paddle. (joking…hehe) Seriously though I like the single paddle because it drips down your arms less.
