Better for damage to the waveski than to the waveskier. Good roll and good “into the wave brace” saved the waveskier from major bodily damage.
Having got caught on the inside several, next to a rock jetty, I am much appreciative of the protection helmet and impact vest/PFD. These also protect against possible harm from kook surfers dropping in on my wave ride.
