don’t think it’s a “crack” it’s a gouge
For those that know, will epoxy work? I don’t see why not. I know I read about just such repairs here in the past.
Repairs to Royalex
I have a Mad River with freeze cracks (negelcted canoe I bought to restore) and spoke to Mad River technical support about a repair kit. My understanding is that epoxy (like WesSystems) is O.K. to fill the cracks on the core material, but still requires a vynil patch of royalex material to make the patch completely weather proff. I would question any repair that is not compliant with the manufactures recommended process. I would tell them I want a new boat.
