I have a bailer in mine. It was essential a few years ago during the 70 miler General Clinton, rained the entire day… if Gene is installing it he will know this but make sure it’s installed from the OUTSIDE and not the inside. Inside mounted bailers can very easily be pushed in if you hit something, even just gliding over a submerged log so just be sure it’s an outside install. I can send pics if you want

Here is another plug for the Classic XL. I’ve been paddling one for a couple of years and it’s a great canoe. It is fun for fast paddling but I use mine for tripping too, especially if I am on larger lakes. It is stable in wind and waves, mostly affected by a stern quartering wind, and can get you out of “trouble spots” (out too far when the wind and waves really do kick up) quickly due to it speed.
