Ultraskiff round, flat bottomed fishing thing

Available at Academy Sporting Goods. You have got to be skidding me. It’s made of poly so it will last 1000 years in the landfill. Hopefully not in a lake.
I thought buffalo boats disappeared a few centuries back.
Yes, It’s hot and I’m bored.

I’m almost sorry I looked that up. Now I’m envisioning a divorce case in which the wife presents this as evidence and gets everything. Either that or some Russians running Class 4 whitewater on them.

Looks like a giant Roomba…

Looks like a UFO. UnIdentifiable Floating Object… Definitely a Grey-thing.

You have to roll it from your vehicle to the water.

Website also says it’s better than a clumsy, unstable kayak.

Pretty entertaining website. https://www.ultraskiff.com/learn-more.html

Thanks, string!

Mmm…reminds me of my wife’s paddle wheel boat. The thing is with an out board these work. At least once for a video.

Next thing you know they’ll shoot white water with it.

Gee, it “only” weighs 123 pounds. How “portable”.

Yeah, I really want to follow a pickup truck down the highway that has a couple of those things in the bed “secured” with bungee cords or binder twine.

Suspect it will never catch on as much as SOT fishing kayak…or Jon boats.

They have.

And there’s one where the guy rows it … says, “I actually feel like this boat was meant to be rowed.”

I’ve figured it out: it’s a cult.

The Oracle of Coracle Cashes In

Rub-a-dub-a-dub,
16 Irish monks inna tub,
to currach non-believers,
formed Academy of deceivers,
and brought across Atlantic,
with countless paddle strokes quite frantic,
this wattle now gone plastic,
St. Brendan’s Cruise Line for the Spastic.

“Fill 'em with rocks!”
“Sink 'em offshore!”
“Give us 'nother round!”
The Oyster Bar implores.

As a teenager I went down a river like that in a canoe, pontoon paddle wheel race boat, a 12 ft row boat with two other guys and once on a paddle. (Separately) That’s not totally impressive.

I’ve been on rougher water than that myself, and I didn’t get pitched out of the boat like that guy did.

I’m tempted to troll them by asking how to put a sail on one.
