Boat wakes will have three waves. Then be done…unless there is a bulkhead to reflect off of.
Letting the wave pass under and following in is the recommended touring kayak surf landing, when loaded.

Unless there are multiple boats like by me in all directions.
Super confused waters
Per boat…plus reflected wave. You could be going at the wrong time or place. But the " washing machine" can appear when too much in a small area occurs. (Wind, tide, current, wakes)
or off to the side of channel in 2’ water when a huge wake comes LOL Then they really break on me.
