I’m planning a trip down the Upper Missouri this spring. Now I’m not leading a party, or guiding this trip. I’m just opening up a thread on this, because I’ll take any advice I can get.
It is open for almost anyone who would like to go. NO WHINERS, NO “WHEN I GET HOME”, They say it’s a 7 day trip, I might take 10 to 14.
Shout out any info you’ll think I need, any or advice.
I’ve done extended trips in to Canada, lakes and lakes…but I’m a river paddler and it’s time to paddle extended river trips.
Peace and Merry X-Mas

Upper MO
Jim, I did this trip last June. We did Loma to Kipp in 6 days, which I thought was a little hurried. The only things I can think of off-hand to mention are:
Bring all the water you will need. You can buy some at Judith Landing - but you’ll pay for it.
I bought and used the USFS(?) maps and liked them.
Plan on a constant headwind - funny how that works.
Keep an eye on the weather.
Take side hikes away from the river.
The L&C campsites can be tough to find, the markers are small and hide in the grass. Gotta poke around a little bit.
Let me know if you have any other specific questions.
