Anyone here spend much time on the upper St Louis River? Specifically, between Forbes and Floodwood? I’m curious about the campsites that are noted on the DNR map. The last time I was on this stretch was over 35 years ago… and since I have difficulty remembering what I had for breakfast this morning, my memory is almost certainly flawed… but I thought the campsites were actually marked on the river? I just paddled this 53 mile stretch yesterday, and, without getting out of the kayak, I didn’t see much that resembled a campsite, or any markings. Were they ever marked? Or have the maps markings always just been “general area” recommendations?
