The black plastic on the cockpit rim of my Valley Skerray has a gap and is sticking out some. Any suggestions for a repair?

the problem correctly, I vote for 3M 5200 (quick cure version).

the size of the gap and its location, also how much of it is “sticking out” would have a lot to do with any suggestions I and others would make.
you want a cockpit coaming as strong as possible for obvious reasons.
