It’s about time. However I’d like to see it apply to all age groups at the start up date instead of the foot dragging timeline it contains. Applies just to power boaters, but I’ve always recommended a boater safety course to anyone & everyone. Unfortunately it exempts rentals, so the clueless jetski and power boat renters will go on as usual. At least it’s something.

Probably the last thing we need anywhere is more government control and regulations, but I will admit that since all power boat operators have to be certified in my state, I don’t see some of the irresponsible silliness that drunks used to do.
