I acquired this lovely
vintage Werner touring paddle. I was told it’s a Camano, but it’s measurements are pretty far off from the current specs on the website. Could you help me ID the model and approximate age? Width at the widest point is about 18.5cm. Length down the middle of the blade to the very very beginning of the flare is 52cm, and 48cm to the start of the turquoise section. The angle adjustment has two locking pins and several holes, no markings. Any guesses what model this is?
Possibly an old Shuna paddle.
It looks like it has to be at least 22 years old. As such, it may not match up to any of the current product line.
Looking at Werner history, in 2003 they switched to the current “Smart View Adjustable” ferrule design (but with exposed button, which they changed to flush in 2009). Yours uses the prior type of ferrule. They might have kept some lower end lines using the older style ferrule for a while, but not likely a carbon paddle like this.
That 2 buttons connection is interesting. Never seen that before.
Okay, absolute newest 2003 but likely earlier? I wrote Werner and one of their older employees guess it’s a San Juan model, though I can’t find much about it online
Are there holes to use both buttons simultaneously, or could this be a way of choosing the paddle length?
