I have two of the Werner carbon fiber foam core sea kayak paddles that have Werner’s adjustable ferrule system that they came out with a couple of years ago.
I love the paddles, but am noticing that both ferrules are now starting to become loose such that there is some play between the two pieces of the paddle when put together. I find this very annoying and unacceptable for a $450 paddle to say the least.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any recommended solutions?
I am thinking of returning them to Werner to have them fixed or replaced. I am not sure how well that they stand behind their products, but would imagine that they would.

I would say you maybe got an unusual lemon from Werner. I have an Ikelos that I used teaching everyday this summer, and my boss has a Kallista that he has had for several years that hasnt loosened. Call Werner up

Said they would fix it. Too bad that I will be without it for a couple of weeks (really like this paddle). I have a backup to use, but then will be without a spare on the water—guess I just will have to make sure I use my paddle leash.
