I’ve found a great deal on a used Sherpa. It would be a backup paddle. Can this paddle be used for recreational lake paddling? It might be offset, which is something I’m not used to.
It’s a whitewater paddle and will be considerably shorter than a touring paddle as well as offset.
Added to that it is likely a 1 piece paddle, so not one you could easily carry as a spare paddle on your kayak.
It was listed as a 4-piece Sherpa, ~220cm. I thought, ‘well, if it’s really that long, it might work!’ I went to look at the paddle today, and it was a 220cm Camano in great condition. Perfect for me! And, it was only $40!! 
How the seller came up “Sherpa”, I have no idea.
