What's it worth (cedar canoe)?

I have a Jensen designed V1, cedar strip canoe that i’m thinking of selling. Its in good condition, with some dings here and there. It could use a new coat of varnish, but otherwise, it looks great. Weighs 34 lbs, and is solid and fast. Adjustable tractor seats, foot braces…all the things you’d want in a racer.

A used kevlar V1 might go for $1000-$1200 (assuming its not perfect condition). Not sure how to price cedar.

Is this just a case of “Its worth what someone will pay for it”?

Thanks.

Yup

Not to be smart-alek but that is the definition of value. So that is very true. I have no idea what it would sell for but I would say you have a smaller market. Most people love wood boats but are scared of them when it gets right down to buying one.

Advertise it for sale on a local canoe clubs forum…better chance of finding someone who’s familiar with the “Wooden Boat”.
