I’d like to redo my deck bungee’s. Neither West Marine nor Home Depot have it by the foot. REI has some stuff that might work but it’s a bit smaller in diameter than I’d like. CLC boats sells it but not in black apparently. Can’t find it on AustinKayaks site. Not sure how much shock cord quality varies from one supplier to the next, but obviously sun and saltwater mandate high quality materials. Does anyone know of a good internet supplier? Thanks.
CLC sells it in black: http://www.clcboats.com/shop/products/boat-gear/kayak-gear-accessories/bungie-cord-shock-cord.html
And colors, too.
Suggest you use the largest diameter you can stuff through deck fittings as it seems to have more memory and last longer. I favor 5/16 over 1/4 inch. Odd about West Marine as our local (Beaufort SC) and small store has red, blue and black in a variety of sizes and colors.
Oh yeah, thanks. I clicked on the CLC link that said “available in 6 different colors”, and didn’t see black, but I see now that they have a separate link for black.

Well, I do see that they have 6 mm on-line, but didn’t see it at my local store yesterday, looking in the section with all the spooled rope. Maybe they were just out.

eBay I bought a bunch. Made USA marine grade. Many types and sizes there.
Probably was original from 08 went tad heavier like stayed above.
Looks so funny without it. Actually ugly.
Shock cord comes in different material coverings.
Any good sporting goods store, especially stores that have lots of fishing stuff should have bungee cord in various sizes.
