Whitewater Instruction, N. Alabama

If anyone has any info on ww instruction, please lead me in the right direction. The only place I am aware of is Alabama Small Boats. I will be checking with them soon. Huntsville Canoe Club was suggested but they do not offer formal instruction. If anyone does any ww paddling, or can help me out in getting started, please contact me.

It’s a whitewater site with a lot of participants from the southeastern US.

NOC has some. http://www.noc.com/paddling_kayak.html

So does…
…HCC take in beginner ww boaters or should one know the basic ww skills before joining?

While the Club says it does not teach, thats for liability purposes...There are folks in the club who will show you the ropes, and do it very skillfully....check this link....

Southern Outdoor Center
is headquartered in Auburn - call Southern Trails in Auburn. They teach on the Coosa in Wetumpka every weekend from early spring through Halloween. While it’s not north Alabama, it’s great instruction on a regular basis. The Coosa has class II-III water (ok, III when we don’t have a drought), and is a GREAT learning river!
