Consider equally used livery boats in Royalex (yup still Royalex boats in their fleet), is one far superior to the other? Paddling rivers with class I-II, smaller lake paddles MAYBE an overnight or two if I’m lucky. Mainly a family boat.
I doubt you’d see much of a difference for that use.
What’s the weight difference? That would probably be top of my mind, besides price
Old Town Discovery canoes are not Royalex. They are three-layer, rotomolded polyethylene. I consider Royalex to be a considerably superior material to three-layer, rotomolded PE.
