I’ve got an old set of control towers and land pads. I want to permanently attach them to the rails of my 5x10 utility trailer. I know folks have used LP7 and yakima tracks for this. Call me crazy, but I’m thinking of just drilling holes in the rails and using the LP1. I’ve got access to the other side and as long as the bolt has enough thread to tighten down on the backing plate (the one you would normally slide in the track) I think should be fine, but I may be missing something.
Thoughts? Criticism? Insults? I’m not proud…fire away.
