I got this basket due to the cross bars. I have Yakima JayLow kayak mounts. Quality brand and made to be setup like this. However, these seems a bit scary to me. That’s a lot of weight up that high.
Anyone else using this mounting system?
Why not just mount it flat and not such a cross wind obsticale?
I could buy a second mount setup for that, but I bought Yakima JayLow mounts so I can mount 2 yaks when needed.
I have friends that use that rack with no problems. Of course they also carry a trimmer sea kayak than one like yours. AND they use straps!
They have the Offgrid basket with boat mounts in it?
