4 seater, reasonable price?

If that is the assumption then the answer is easy. Stay off the water.

I agree there is danger everyplace and I was suggesting selective risk analyses.

There is no such thing as 100% safe alone or with several kids. Even a small farm pond has risk.

Get the kids a wading pool and call it a day.

I just sold an old beat Rogue River 14 for $150. There’s a newer one in Virginia Beach you could probably get for $500 if he still has it. They are 42" wide and very stable with flotation built in to the seats but weigh about 120 pounds. It handles easily with a Suspenz Heavy Duty cart. My three legged Labrador Retriever and I took class two rapids on the James river with no problem. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TM3TCQ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Plenty of places to takes kids with much less risk than in a kayak or row boat. We’re not talking a small farm pond.

Far far far from what op was looking for or to do. Boat, trailer, garage, and cross’s training. When you take kids out your need to be able to handle any situation not training for one.
