Another sucky winter day up north

my four legged hero Paris <3 check out this build http://www.top13.net/man-built-custom-dog-kayak/

You know, Chuck… if you get marooned out there in the wilderness you can eat that dog.

In the fjords of the Forty-Ninth,
where mountains echo on bay,
there’s a Paris that hovers all points from on deck,
herding yaks through most glorious day.
Look Seward’s Folly wonderfully now at play.

Paris is a ton smarter than that dude in your link. She’s wearing a PFD.

Not without my ex’s secret recipe…

I saw this: “You know, Chuck… if you get marooned out there in the wilderness you can eat that dog.” … and I thought, ‘Oh, I think I might know who this “new Chuck guy” is’. Then I saw his reply, and realized, ‘yup, that cinches it.’

I’m sure there are more new names for old members than any of us know.

Awesome pictures. Lived up in North Pole for a few years and had a German Shepard. Colder than about -10F, we would dress her out with insulated paw covers and a jacket because she lacked the protective fur of the Husky type dog breeds. Other than the vest, what do you for cold water immersion for the dog?

A fleece lined jacket and a neoprene jacket under the pfd

Is that Denali?

Yes. Rest assured that “Wanda” is tucked away and doing double duty as a PFD.

Flotation bag

I’m kinda fonda Wanda.

Oh, Wicked Wanda,
Where forth art thou?
Partially deflated,
Paddling an old Pnetter’s scow.
(Poetic apologies to canoeswithduckheads

Wanda wanders
westward yonder,
where winds whip words debated.

Is now she
sung PFD,
'neath shadow of Mt. Trump?
Or half as hag
flotation bag
to rise when one takes dump?

And we’re she prettier
(I more or less Whittier)
with Wanda wouldst I tangle…
But to wander fa, fa,
with words of Baba Wawa,
“A wish called Wanda’s one wild wok to Wrangell!”

With apologies to The Hull of High Spirits. Hell, to Chuck Amok and the whole disjointed P.com collective, for that matter!

Oh! And to the Wicked, Wanton Woman of Windsor, too!

See–Dat’s what I’m talkin’ bout! “to rise when one takes dump.”
The guy’s just magic with verse, I tell ya!

A Jack Russell Terrier or Parson JRT, I am crazy about that breed. I had a rough coat that would lay on my lap while I paddled. Fantastic dogs. Wonderful scenery.

Please stop… Isnt 50 inches in four days enough?
