Thanks
Lots of nice replies. Thanks for not flaming me for flaming my flaming boat. Mike to answer your question, This is the first kayak that I have ever been in, so my credibility is weak, However, I like this boat cause I can grab it, throw it in my pickup, quickly tie it, drive to the lake, hook up the wheels run to the water, tie the wheels to the back and presto I am in the water. Mostly what I like about the boat is the seat, it is so comfortable that I can close my eyes and wake up 10 minutes later looking for thr remote thinking I am home in front of the TV. Also I can swim off it when I want. Bye the way, my lake is very calm with no power boats allowed.
Seatec,-did you ever use Triptease?
I think Kelty makes it…
You would like that color
if you had a safety issue and some one had to come looking for you.
Wy wife and I have poly sea kayaks that are a yellow splash to red as their color.
About seven or eight years ago, we were making a eight mile crossing to Elliott Key down off south Florida, and completely by ourselves, when we noticed a large cabin cruiser on the horizon.
It kept getting closer until we realized it was heading our way.
It finally got right up close to us and there were a bunch of people on the deck and one of them shouted that they had to come and see what we were since they could just see the splash of color from the long distance and couldn’t figure out what it was.
They asked if everything was OK and then went merrily on their way.
Cheers,
JackL
You wear make-up? NM
Thanks Jackl
Your point is taken. At this pointI feel that I will only use the boat in local quiet lakes, but that could change, and even quiet lakes can be dangerous.
That color is highly visible in low
light. If it is a gfood boat colot shouldn’t matter, unless it is pink.
Paddle it like you love it
Sooner or later you will. Be loud, be proud. Mine’s a flaming red Tsunami. My wife thinks it’s sexy.
If you have snot green
you really should see a doc. Snot is usually clear if you’re healthy.
Then why did you buy it?
Paddle easy,
Coffee
Prep
Is there some prep that would help the Krylomn Fusion paint to stick?

an honest man!
I propose this post be nominated into the pnet hall of fame for the frank honesty. I’m not a big fan of “leftover” boats either (my theory on these color blend kayaks is that they are made up of all the little poly scraps on the floor at the end of the week - sorta like chex mix!).
BUT (with the tune from “it’s not easy being green” playing in the background), orange can be safe in it’s visibility. And won’t capture heat like a darker boat. And the color blend may not show signs of wear as easily.
And like I said when I used to drive a SAAB 99, “it’s not ugly from the inside!”
Poly scrap kayaks are grey or black.
flamin boat
cammo stickers, ck out some of the outdoors stores-bert
Hey, I’m offended…
I have a bright orange Kayak and I love it!
Just kidding, not offended, to each his own…
ugly boat
Looks are only kayak deep.
I hate my red kayak but with lots of stickers and earned respect(it has never let me down, been thousands of miles)…
I do not think of the colour anymore.
Yellow and red are better to be found by
And apparently he doesn’t know how
to apply that make-up properly, otherwise he would have no flaws in his make-up.
I paddle a “fire” Necky Eskia
I love that color scheme. Plus it’s visible on the water. Really, who cares what color it is as long as you are paddling it. I say, you will get used to it.
Plus, chicks dig those wild colors!
Thanks for all the replies
I realize now that I actually like the colour but its not the colour scheme I would normally choose for my self. it could be a case of been stuck in my comfort zone, hopefully I will get used to it. If chicks do like the colour, maybe it will get me a date, if that happens I will paint my truck fire colour, and my house( well on second thought maybe not the house)
Orange…
I just bought an orange Capella 160. I actually would've liked the yellow but orange was the only color they had for the 160 and like you I got a great deal. It's actually orange with little red speckles.
I already have an orange Advanced Frame AF inflatable and my PFD is orange as is one of my pullovers so it works for me to have another orange boat so everything is a matched set. I like the fact that it's very visible. I paddle in areas where there tends to be a lot of boat traffic and it helps to be seen.
What I like about the Capella is that texture of the plastic. It's got speckling in it and it looks very nice. I like it a lot better than those really shiny plastic kayaks.
Actually the only color that I don't like (besides pink, which you couldn't pay me enough to have) is lime green.
