Yes it tragic. Some of the herds are down 50%. And it may be worse in some areas because in the last few years we had outbreaks of hemorrhagic fever and then Chronic Wasting disease. So the deer were down a lot already (80% in a few areas) and now we get a super cold season with some very deep snow on top of that…
It’s 7:00 AM and there is a new 3" thick blanket of fresh snow. And still falling. We had mud on the roads here for the last 4 days and so we did have some brown showing through. Not now. It’s all stark white again.
Now, I do enjoy snow, but like most things in life --------- you can get too much of it.
