Old sea kayak models (out of production)

The crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald and and the hundreds of shipwrecks across the Great Lakes would respectfully disagree. Here’s a little video of a wild day on Lake Superior.

You just need the proper clothes for those conditions. I would use my deep sea diving outfit so I could walk along the bottom. Still, the surf on launching/landing might be tricky.

Do you have a green Solstice to match the summer colours?

Well, as a matter of fact…

My Dad gave me his 1997 Solstice ST last summer! It’s red……vroom vroom. Well, not a vroom vroom shade, but it’s a nice boat!

I just picked up a Hurricane Tracer 165 for free. Needed some TLC. There was a crack in the bow, the front hatch mount was coming unglued and the rear hatch lid was torn. But a little weekend work and she’s seaworthy (or pond worthy at the moment) again.

Zephyr 160 Pro. Production quality was uneven once they off-shored it, but as a versatile big water boat, it was hard to beat.

2000 Dagger Sitka s/p restoration - given to us by a friend, whose wife just wanted it gone. It was a project boat. Deck with heavy oxidation and a hole in the hull. My father restored it and re-introduced it to the water again.
