my advise
I don’t know the first thing about WW or the particulars of your situation, so take it all with a grain of sand.
Moving water is dangerous.
Before you go out on moving water, I would suggest learning how to control your boat well on flat water–a local lake, something like that. Get a DVD on strokes and maneuvers and pracitce that until you’ve got it down cold. I would think you need to be able to paddle straight, stop, turn, brace and do various draws before you head out onto moving water. That may have be what the folks in your club were talking about when they said you weren’t “good enough”–just having down skills prerequisit for venturing out into moving water.

And, yes, advising strangers who are beginners that it is OK to paddle WW alone is clearly "bad advice". People are free to suggest it but it's still bad. I guess you have no standards!

I made no statement in that post that suggested either restricting your opinions - or that supported/promoted any particular sort of behavior (I’ll leave the judgmental characterizations such as “bad” to you).
I also clearly limited my “narrow/intolerant” comment to a characterization of your one note posts - not to you personally (though one could argue that you do own your words - and so they you - and thus are one in the same).
Were I to characterize you personally, or at least your online behavior as that’s all I know of you, I’d likely use the word “Boor” - which to be absolutely clear as to how I am using it means: Wearingly dull, repetitive, or tedious.

class I and II

"Class I - These rapids are small and have slightly fast moving water. There are hardly any dangerous spots and those that are dangerous are easily spotted and avoidable. The risk to swimmers is small and can be corrected by self rescue. In other words there is nothing to worry about in a class I rapid.
Class II - With some basic training, the obstacles in this class are easily maneuvered around or avoided. The swifter currents of water, channels, and rapids are easily noticed with some forward scouting. Swimmers will probably not get hurt in these rapids. It rarely occurs that someone may need outside assistance to rescue themselves."
