Pretty Pictures - Just Pretty Pictures

Easy to lose sight of others out there! I could hear folks better than I could see them! Cypress trees and knees no problem, just say no to sawgrass!

Another day of self-healing.

What is the location of the photos?

Timing is everything… The picture on the left was from Milford, Michigan, on a beautiful day last September, and the one on the right was from two weeks ago on a very overcast, sometimes very windy day

Wow, but imagine the same scene with no ripples.

looks like a passage to another universe

Those were taken at Falls Lake, NC.

In sepia tone the stones stacked arch
to frame less shore by bow of larch
or perhaps alder or maple’s list
where water’s world climbed to sky in mist.

“Go Blue,” yells, fervent Michigan fan.
A Maized gone pale gives same yell in Lexington.
These wolverines to wildcats crying out not as scary,
nor state of Big Blue, A.I…B.M. in binary,

as solemn croak pouring out reeds of marsh,
discordant bop ancient, into grey modal, not too harsh.
Standing tall, steady, stalking time and all moved through.
Miles and miles ahead, surely Great, kind of Blue.

New Boat Day! (old boat, really)

Picked up a '98 Eddyline Raven; well maintained, but does need a gentle hull makeover. Putting it through a 3 day paddle/camp test run this weekend, will tell the tale.

Beautiful scenery - is that in the midwest?

What is the device on the back deck?

It appears to be a cart without the wheels attached. From the size of the back hatch, I suspect the wheels are there.

A roll might be difficult.

I thought they were ‘roll bars’ for shallow water.
