That is the Piedmont area of North Carolina. The photo was taken at Falls Lake, NC.
@castoff is correct, it’s my cart frame. Indeed, the wheels are stowed in the aft.
I hope I never have to find out! However, that cart can be somewhat frustrating to disassemble. Thus, it just gets a topside ride for the day.
Swans were holding a convention on the Island Road section of the Kensington Metropark lake today. I counted over 40 and estimated the total to be around 60 swans!
Camped on a friend’s sailboat off Shell Key 3 years ago to watch the start of that year’s Everglades Challenge.
Afternoon paddle at Shearon Harris Reservoir (NC); roughly 5 mi.
The aquatic plant life was endless, as were sightings of wildlife; deer, beavers, herons, egrets, bald eagles, ravens (chasing/pestering the bald eagles)… very diverse.
Miles to go before I totally circumvent that lake.
Another nice day of paddling at the Shearon Harris Reservoir.
Yeah… that would be the Harris Nuclear Plant in the background. I couldn’t help but have the theme song to the Simpsons floating around in my head during the entire paddle. The thought of glow in the dark hands entered my mind as well.

Seems like the site is having issues again. Can’t upload photos and I was shut out of the forums for 3 days with an error code this week.
That’s not a pretty picture, both literally and figuratively! lol
