Would you paddle a lake at 96°?

More like a stumble with a bounce in my hat, and a smelly friend to paddle with! B) Goodnight.

Come Sit a Repel and We’ll Bug Ya

The mice are wearing dryer sheets,
neatly folded into pointy pirate hats.
The mosquitos are bathing in the deet,
high drone giggles from the getting Off vat.

Black fly swarm perfumes with permethrin,
The buzz is quite merry if not gold.
Thousand citronella candles lighting up the night.
Another rhino in the dust and mud has rolled.

Try new Primp Scampi Soap! A lemon-garlic-cocoa butter barrier to all biting insects and vampires! Snuffs out same species socialization, too!

Don’t you no-see-em mesh with me.
Said the Diptera dipped in DEET.
While skeeters sing and keep the beat
“Oil on the Water, Flies in the Sky”
And mice and men dance in the street.
Bounce to their step upon the sheet.
Black Mangrove smudge pots smoke the sky.
Permethrine makes the ticks retreat.
Chiggers run Off on eight small feet
The dusty Rhino charged a fee
While from this poem a flea will flee.

Not bad, but don’t give up your day job.

We’re headed north where the temps are 4° cooler. Be still my heart!

What you need is perfume that attracts bug-eating birds. Get in both paddling and birding. Kill two bugs with one stone!

C’mon swallows and flycatchers and gnatcatchers!

Ugh Blackflies! I had a Canadian tell me that those drier sheets you add to a load of clothes pinned to the back of a hat helped to ward them off. Is there any truth to that?

no… We do love the outdoors at home which is in the woods. Fans are our defense because BF hate wind. They are pretty easy to deal with if you avoid dark colors.
We have mice too… In the same room as the laundry supplies…

But we have BF so we have a trophy lake, so we have loons aplenty too… What we do not get is stable flies or algal growth on the water.
