Except in a serious side wind.

On our way to a family vacation at a lake house. Need to watch the tractor trailers. There are J hooks in there somewhere.

Do vans count?

We drove a Suburban for 14 years and only once was it noticeably affected by a side wind BUT there were no boats on the roof.

what happens when you turn sharply, like backing up? We had to deal with that with our trailer.

We never had a clearance problem with this canoe. It was a 16. We just replaced it with a 17 foot boat. I think there is enough room for the longer canoe. The photo makes it look closer than it is and it is centered on the roof; the 5th wheel pivots around it.

Oh! Centered makes all the difference in the world. I missed that. Enjoy the trailer!

How about behind a car? Strangely enough, Thule doesn’t seem to make a rack that fits a convertible top.
